Revert "Fix TestSyncEngine::abortAfterFailedMkdir"

This reverts commit 1cec2ca13dc35aba6aaf79f42bde9a6dd00143a7
but keeps the reset() -> take() part that is probably the cause
of crashes we've seen in the crash reporter.
