Revert "gridview: GC tiles first"

This reverts commit e121a5ca6f761fc4433187bf1ad13a093ede205d.

The tile that was causing the critical in #5836
(what that commit was about) was a FILLER, and we
are getting rid of FILLER tiles here. Which will
avoid the issue in a more elegant way.
